On August 18, the construction of SICC Shanghai Plant was kicked off in the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Wu Xiaohua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lin-gang Special Area, Zong Yanmin, SICC Board Chairman, and the leaders of the designe and construction companies attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
The construction of SICC Shanghai Plant is defined as one of the Shanghai Major Construction Projects in 2021. The total investment will be 2.5 billion RMB. The plant has an area of 100 mu (over 66000㎡) and the building area is 95,000㎡. Over 1,000 sets of new equipment and tools will be added in this plant.
The new plant will help SICC to further expand its production capacity, meet the rapidly growing market demand, and support the healthy development of the wide bandgap silicon carbide industry chain in China.
